Last Day!

Well, it's our last full day in China.  Very early tomorrow, we will begin our long trek back to the good old U. S. of A.  We have had a wonderful trip and are so very thankful for our new daughter.  She is such a joy.

China itself has been amazing.  The beauty and modernity have been both breathtaking and unexpected.  The people have been courteous, kind and respectful to a fault.

Below is a picture of a very nice shopkeeper we met (one of many) who goes by the name of Jordon.  He used to spell it like our son Jordan, but he was informed that the country of Jordan is not a friend of China, so he changed it.

He makes the most beautiful "chops" which is a hand carved stone stamp with your child's name on it in either English calligraphy, Chinese or both.  He enjoys doing it so much, that he takes his work home with him.  You can then pick it up the next day.  It comes in a lovely Chinese box with a little china inkwell for $5-$7 U.S., depending on the size.  He is very nice and very friendly without high-pressure sales.

Is this a great smile or what?

Would you like a cup?

Another great smile.

Hi Mickey and Chris --- and Elizabeth! Dolly gave me the URL, and I've been following your adventure for the past few days. I am awed at the marvelous lifetime commitment you have made to bring Elizabeth into a wonderful, happy family. I'm certain she will grow into a fine woman, with the highest values – and with two of the greatest parents imaginable!

Best regards – and a safe journey home.
