Within moments of meeting us, she began teaching us the games that she obviously played with her "nanny" (ayi = Iyee in Chinese). There's no way she could just know how to do these things on her own. She plays a blinking game with us and makes smoochy sounds along with several other games in which she expects our participation. But the most adorable one is when she puts her hand on her cheek, tilts her head and puts on a big cheesy grin and wants us to do the same.
We have been graced with her smiles from day one. She seems to have accepted us implicitly. She has cried a total of five seconds so far and we were grateful for that as well because we now know that that's not broken. ;)
She has bonded with both of us equally and clings tightly to us when held. She does not require being held at all times, but watches to make sure we stay within sight. She is eating well and sleeping right on the schedule that we were given from her orphanage. Amazing!
She even says "mama" and "dada". Although we can't be sure she is applying these words to us, we think she does.
Thanks to everyone who has kept us in the thoughts and prayers. We look forward to seeing all of you soon, but for right now, we continue to enjoy our great adventure in the land of China.
